Welcome to First Grade!

First grade news….

Be sure to look at the pictures on this page from the school year so far.  Click on Field Trip Pictures on the top of this page, then click on the link to see the pictures of the Eclipse activity, and our Sower’s Garden field trip.

We have been studying about old time America, mill bells or whistles, springs, Native Americans and ghost writers.  We have had a wonderful two weeks in school.

Make sure you remove papers from your child’s blue folder that have red ink or a sticker on them.

On Friday, October 13th we will be going to Camp Wartburg for a day of nature study.  We will pack a lunch and spend the day exploring God’s wonderful creation!

We will leave around 9:00 a.m. and leave around 2:00 p.m.  Drivers are needed.  Watch this site for more information.

Be sure to check Zion’s Facebook page!

Now that the weather is getting warmer, your child may bring a water bottle to school.  I ask two favors from you. 1).  Water only in the bottle.  2).  Please make sure the lid can be put on securely.  We knock over out bottles quite frequently.

Have you checked out our art display in the hallway?  First graders are quite the artists!!

Mrs. Hasstedt was our first Adult Roaring Reader.  She read “If You Give a Pig a Pancake”.  We had lots of fun listening to that story.
