Returning Students

Registration for the 2018-2019 school year will open today!   Currently enrolled families of Zion should have received an email from TADS with a link to your family’s specific registration instructions. If you did not receive this email, please contact the school office at zionoffice@zionschoolbelleville.org

Completing the registration process early is vital to our planning – hiring qualified teachers, determining class sizes and programming – in order to meet the educational needs of our students for the upcoming year.

We have had an exciting first half of the 2017-2018 school year, and we know God is going to continue do His good work in our school for the remainder of the year and into the next.  In the past few years and months here at ZLS, He has supplied our needs and the needs of our students in many areas:

  • 1 new teaching staff member, new preschool teachers’ assistants, & a new extended care director
  • The Grand Opening of our Reading Lab to help us differentiate our reading instruction for kindergarten-2nd grade students
  • AIMSWeb Plus testing from kindergarten all the way through 8th grade
  • Capability to supply incoming 5th graders with Zion-owned Chromebooks (improving our 1-to-1 technology component in the 5th-8th grade classes)
  • Progress toward streamlining our school information system using TADS and Educate
  • Meeting our fundraising goals allowing us to upgrade our safety and security equipment to the interior and exterior of the building

We know that His goodness will not end there.

You have entrusted your precious children to our care and invested greatly in their academic and spiritual futures, and we are honored to bear that responsibility.  We are looking ahead with excitement and hope at the opportunity that we have to continue to provide our students with an excellent academic program while living out God’s Word and showing the love of Jesus Christ.   We pray that you will remain a part of it.

Updates:

TADS (Tested and Designed by Schools)

2018-2019 Tuition & Fees – Our tuition has changed!  Please see “Tuition and Fees” sheet (attached to this email).  Preschool families, please pay close attention to the difference in tuition between preschool and K-8.

Preschool Programming Changes – We are so excited to offer more flexible preschool options for our families!  Starting next fall, preschool families will be able to choose full or half day programs from 2-5 days a week.  You will also be able to choose which days of the week you want your children to attend!

Addition of a 2-year old preschool program (in the planning stages)- Even more exciting for us is the addition of preschool programming for 2 year olds and children who turn 3 after the September 1st cut off date.  Our goal is to open enrollment for this program in the spring, so stay tuned!

Tuition Assistance – Zion automatically applies tuition assistance to families with 3 or more children enrolled and offers needs-based tuition assistance to families who qualify after applying through the Financial Aid module in TADS.  The deadline for applying is April 1st, 2018.

If you are interested in applying for tuition assistance, please see our “Tuition Assistance Information” sheet (attached to this email) for more information and instructions.

*Zion Lutheran Church and School has not yet made its decision to participate in the state’s new tax credit scholarship program.  When a decision is reached, more information will be shared with you.

We encourage you to spread the word in our community of how God is working through the lives of the students and staff to provide a loving, Christian, educational environment for children and families.  Please also keep Zion Lutheran School in your prayers as we move through this very important enrollment period.  We are ready to continue to carry out Christ’s mission here in Belleville.

In His Service,
Mrs. Ananda Baron
