Zion’s Chess Club is a place for students to have fun and play games, meet friends, develop strategy skills, become more creative, develop logical thinking skills, and become more independent.
Chess club is for experienced and inexperienced chess players in grades 5-8 with a 24 player limit (which will be filled from oldest to youngest if necessary). There is another section for grades 1-4 on Tuesdays.
Chess Club is led by Mr. Schmid and meets in his classroom (A1) from 3:15-4:15 every Wednesday, and will start after Labor Day. There is no cost to join. Students may bring a small snack to have during their chess time.
