Resource
Zion Lutheran School students perform well because they are prepared well. Nothing empowers like confidence and at ZLS, with our personalized learning in an environment that assures students have opportunities to succeed, we have the resources available to help those who might need additional support.
Unlike other private schools, we have a full-time Resource Instructor on staff. Mrs. Lewis’ role is to provide response to intervention when needed for our students. That intervention can take many forms, but most notably includes small group and one-on-one intensive assistance in the areas of reading and math. Her goal is to identify the need early and provide personalized support needed to achieve academic success in the classroom and beyond.
All of our students are given bench-mark testing through AIMSweb three times a year – the beginning, middle and end. Using this testing system, AIMSweb’s data-driven model provides Curriculum-Based Measurement (CBM) assessments for benchmarking and progress monitoring, in addition to web-based data management, charting, and reporting. Together, these components provide a complete system to benchmark and monitor students’ acquisition of essential academic skills.
