Introducing Mrs. Young – Preschool 3 Teacher
It is our pleasure to introduce the “new” preschool 3 teacher for the upcoming school year, Mrs. Jeannine Young. Mrs. Young is no stranger to Zion’s preschool as she filled in for Mrs. Kintz last year when she was on maternity leave.
This upcoming school year, Mrs. Young will be the lead teacher in the classroom on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursdays.
Meet Mrs. Young!
What are you most excited about joining our school staff?
I have been a part of the Zion family for the past 15 years as a mom of three girls who went there from K-8th grade, my oldest being in college and my youngest having just graduated 8th grade. I have been able to watch the teachers and staff continuously display love and care to them, teaching them daily not only to be prepared academically for a competitive scholastic world, but more importantly, how to be prepared to walk confidently in the faith and the love of Jesus in a world that often entices them otherwise. I am most excited to now be part of that team, to be a part of giving this love and care to the youngest of the Zion family, and to share with them the abundant love that our God has graciously given us. I am excited to teach them to discover His creation through exploration and to remind them how fearfully and wonderfully made they are!
What is your favorite bible verse?
2 Cor 5:17 says: “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come. The old has gone, the new is here”. This verse tells me that God has reconciled us to himself in Christ, and that He has not counted our sins against us! The imagery of how a caterpillar turns into a butterfly always reminds me of this verse.
What do you like to do in your free time?
I love to travel. I was born in Scotland and was raised on the small island of Rodrigues (east of Africa). So, all of my relatives live on different continents. Travelling not only allows me to see them but exposes my family and I to multiple cultures which has, over the years, deeply enriched our lives. Currently, while we await the day we can travel abroad again, I love exploring new places in the US and increasing my knowledge of American history which I find fascinating, I love the ocean, hiking, road-tripping and motorcycle riding with my husband and daughter. I love everything about summer, and when we aren’t out exploring, I work on jigsaw puzzles and watch ‘Gilmore Girls’ reruns with my daughters!
