At Zion Lutheran School, we are proud of our alumni and their accomplishments. It is our goal to bring you an Alumni Spotlight each week to highlight what our past Zion Lions have been up to!
Student:
Alexandra Spear
Hometown:
Belleville
Current residence:
Ypsilanti, MI
Years at Zion:
2006- 2011; 4th-8th
Favorite Memory:
My favorite memory is playing basketball and volleyball. The tournaments attended, the lock-ins we had and the practices we completed all have fond memories attached to them.
What she has been up to:
I graduated from Concordia University Ann Arbor in May 2020 with a Bachelors Degree in Secondary and Elementary Education with a Lutheran Teaching Degree. In June 2020, I accepted a call to St. Paul Lutheran School in Ann Arbor, MI. I am the homeroom teacher for 7th grade and teach science for grades 5-8.
How did your time at ZLS influence you?
It made me want to become a teacher. My teachers at Zion were amazing. I only truly realized that after I left the school and started to pursue teaching myself. I can hope that I am half the teacher that they were to me.
Extra:
Zion’s youth groups are amazing. Take the time to check them out with friends and take them seriously. The time and effort you put in will return to you tenfold. If you get the opportunity, be part of the youth leadership teams. Go to Camp Lone Star and National Youth Gathering.
