This Holy Week, our K-4 students got to experience a Walk with Jesus – the amazing and emotional journey Jesus embarked on in the last days before he was crucified. Church volunteers and 8th graders helped them to discover the powerful emotions and sacrifice of Jesus’ last days on earth—and the joy of His resurrection!
Grab those running shoes, head for the start line, and go! On Monday, April 26th at Zion Lutheran School, Belleville, IL, preschool through 8th grade will participate in the Lion’s Roar Fun Run by running or walking laps to raise money for our school.
This year donations will be made 100% online.

Our Lion’s Roar Kids’ Fun Run is back as our school’s main fundraiser this year. The money raised will be used for the priority items annually funded by the school auction – technology and educational supplies to supplement our curriculum, programs, and instruction – so that ZLS can continue its mission toward growing minds, building character, and connecting hearts in Christ.
Some items include:
★ Music program (music education, choirs, musicals)
★ Chromebooks and other classroom technology upgrades
★ Art supplies
★ Science lab specimens
★ Library materials
★ Classroom supplies and subscriptions for teachers
★ Bus money for field trips
★ Challenge program expenses
★ Graduation celebration expenses
★ School and classroom furnishings
The Fun Run will be held on Monday, April 26th as a kickoff to our rescheduled National Lutheran Schools’ Week celebration, and all students in preschool through 8th grade will have the opportunity
to help raise money by getting sponsors and walking or running laps that day during school.
We cannot thank you enough for your continued support for improving our great school! We are looking forward to a Fun Run day on Monday, April26th.

Currently I am married to Nicole Kaemmerer. We have been married for just over two years. I am currently working as the Operations Supervisor at Louis Dreyfus Company, a grain elevator on the Mississippi River.

Our student council sponsored food drive and plastic bag donations have reached a new level with more than 4,500 items donated to date. We are taking donations through Friday, March 26, so don’t forget to send in more items!
Being a musical school and with Holy Week approaching, it is only fitting we sing! Here, our firsties tell us about the Power of the Blood while one of our talented fourth graders contributes with a solo performance to help lead the way. Well done, Zion Lions!

There are two: my 8th grade class trip to Texas, it was a great time for the class to bond before we all graduated and went to separate high schools and the state track meets at Chicago.
What she has been up to:
I currently a Legal Assistant at a law firm. I am married to my husband, Tom, with two kids, Noah and Hannah and my step-son Ayden. My biggest accomplishments are having a career I love, and being a mom.
How did your time at ZLS influence you?
It a laid a firm foundation for my life. It nurtured my faith and helped it grow. That faith has gotten me through some really tough times in my life. It gave me a great education and teachers that truly cared about me. It still puts a smile on my face to see teachers I once had.
