Hello to Monday and Hello to Start with Hello Week! Thank you to the student council for some special events on campus this week and a Fun Run to cap it off on Friday.
Start with Hello – The Sandy Hook Promise
This program teaches students to make a difference with their peers in a simple, fun, and impactful way. They take small but powerful actions to promote connectedness and inclusion, and to identify and help lonely students who are showing signs of social isolation.

Social isolation is the overwhelming feeling of being left out, lonely or treated like you are invisible. Young people who feel this way may pull away from society, struggle with learning and social development, or choose to hurt themselves or others.
Special events will be happening each day on our campus and led by our student council.
Friday is our Fun Run and will also be a special dress up day.
Friday is Dress up day: Superhero Day (make everyone feel included by dressing up the same)

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11
Eighth grade year is one of the most memorable school years for our #ZionLions. Some of these students have been with us since they were three years old, others have come to ZLS throughout the years, but the friendships and memories made will last a lifetime.
Congratulations Class of 2020

Zion Lutheran Church’s Sowers Garden Club welcomed our students back from Easter break by organizing an Earth Day activity after chapel. Faith families enjoyed creating bird feeders out of re-purposed water bottles. The activity was to emphasize how we can use every-day items and make them into something new! #EarthDay2019 #LuthEd #ZionSchoolBelleville

Candy canes, Christmas carols, cheers, laughs and memories made. All the things seen around our school on the last day before Christmas break. What a wonderful, most joyous time of year.

Thursday, Jan. 31 – Patriotic Day

Our preschool is filled with WOW Experiences – opportunities for parents, grandparents and loved ones to come to our school and teach our preschoolers something new that goes along with the curriculum they are studying. Here, one of our preschool families (dad and grandpa) who are plumbers, came by with a backhoe. The kids loved it!

Make buddies, not bullies. Thanks to more than 400 pounds of bottle caps collected by our Girl Scout Troop 88, our students have a brand-new opportunity to be a friend with the addition of two buddy benches on our playgrounds. The benches are made out of the recycled bottle caps and look sharp in our school colors. Thanks, girls!
